Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

Applicants must be Indian citizens.

2. Age Limit

The age criteria are as follows:

  • General Category: 18 to 28 years (Born between 22nd January 1997 and 22nd January 2007).
  • ST/SC Category: Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years (Born between 22nd January 1992 and 22nd January 2007).
  • OBC Category: Upper age limit relaxable by 3 years (Born between 22nd January 1994 and 22nd January 2007).
  • Ex-Servicemen and Meritorious Sportspersons: Additional relaxations as per government norms.

4. Educational Qualification

  • Constable (Unarmed Branch) & Constable (Armed Branch): HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Constable (Mechanic):
    • Must possess HSLC or equivalent qualification.
    • Must have completed a 1-year training course in the relevant trade from an Industrial Training Institute or an equivalent institution.
    • At least 5 years of work experience as a Mechanic in a government or private automobile workshop.

Physical Standards and Efficiency Test Guidelines

Physical Measurements

Applicants are required to meet the following standards:

For Male Applicants:

  • Height: Minimum 168 cm (relaxed to 158 cm for SC/ST candidates).
  • Chest:
    • Normal: 84 cm
    • Expanded: 89 cm
    • (Relaxable to 79 cm and 84 cm respectively for SC/ST candidates).

For Female Applicants:

  • Height: Minimum 157 cm (relaxed to 153 cm for SC/ST candidates).
  • Weight: Minimum 45 kg (relaxed to 44 kg for SC/ST candidates).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET will consist of the following activities:

  • 1 km Race: Male participants must complete within 5 minutes.
  • 100 m Race: Male participants must complete within 15 seconds.
