Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) is looking for a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Executive – Civil to join their team in the Engineering & Maintenance division. About the Role: Maintenance Executive – Civil
As a Maintenance Executive – Civil, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and upkeep of the airport’s civil infrastructure. This includes overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of buildings, plumbing systems, flooring, and other facilities. The role involves supervising teams of skilled and semi-skilled workers, managing maintenance projects, and ensuring that everything is done safely and efficiently.
You will report directly to the Senior Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Manager, and work within the Landside Maintenance department, which focuses on maintaining the areas accessible to the public, such as terminal buildings and external structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising Maintenance Activities:
- Oversee a team of skilled and semi-skilled workers performing various maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and general building repairs.
- Ensure all tasks comply with airport safety standards.
- Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop plans and schedules for routine maintenance, setting priorities and ensuring tasks are completed on time.
- Take care of complex repairs and maintenance jobs when needed.
- Costing and Documentation:
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and documentation for projects and improvement works.
- Keep track of maintenance activities and prepare necessary reports and purchase requests for materials.
- Quality Assurance:
- Support the quality assurance team by addressing feedback and ensuring maintenance work meets high standards.
- Training and Development:
- Train the team of workers (both skilled and unskilled) to follow safety protocols and work efficiently.
- Coordination:
- Work closely with other departments and external contractors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed smoothly and safely.
Requirements
- Education:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering is required. A B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Experience:
- For a Diploma holder: At least 3 years of experience in civil construction and maintenance.
- For a B.E./B.Tech holder: At least 1 year of experience, including some experience as a Project Engineer.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation.
- Good knowledge of civil maintenance tools, equipment, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with National Building Code (NBC) and NFPA standards is a plus.
