As a Capital Markets Business Analyst, you will work in the Financial Services (BFS) domain, collaborating with teams and clients to ensure smooth execution of projects across various services such as trading, clearing and settlement, portfolio management, and more. You will be involved in working on products and services related to equities, fixed income, mutual funds, derivatives, and risk management, and will play an essential role in enhancing business processes, technology solutions, and strategies for clients in the finance and capital markets industry.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be a key player in bridging the gap between business and technology teams, ensuring that all requirements are met effectively while aligning with client objectives and expectations. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Requirement Elicitation and Management: Gather, document, and analyze business requirements by engaging with stakeholders and understanding their needs. You will refine the product backlog and prioritize tasks with the Product Lead and Technology Owner to align with business goals.
  • Backlog Management: You will be responsible for managing the product backlog, working closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders to ensure that it is always updated and prioritized according to the needs of the project. Your ability to keep the backlog aligned with business goals will ensure smooth project execution.
  • SDLC Process Expertise: As a Business Analyst, you will have a deep understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process, and will be well-versed in Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Your knowledge will help facilitate Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Story Writing for both business and technical requirements.
  • Documentation & Specifications: You will create comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), Use Case Specifications, and Workflows. These documents will be crucial for guiding development and ensuring everyone is on the same page throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management: You will manage stakeholder relationships, performing gap analysis and ensuring that project expectations are clearly defined and met. Your ability to work closely with clients, business teams, and technical experts will be vital to the success of the projects.
  • Testing and Acceptance: As part of your role, you will be responsible for testing and accepting stories, ensuring that all features meet the defined business and technical requirements before they go live. Your focus on production stability, security, and resiliency will ensure quality outcomes.

What You Bring to the Table

To be successful in this role, you must have a solid background in Capital Markets with a deep understanding of various financial instruments and services. The ideal candidate will have experience working in areas like trading, clearing, settlement, securities lending, portfolio management, risk management, and corporate actions.

In addition, you should possess:

  • A strong command of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
  • Experience in creating detailed documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, and Use Cases.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Equities, Bonds, Mutual Funds, and Derivatives is essential, along with a familiarity with the operational aspects of capital markets.
