Mode of Selection

  1. Normalization of Marks: The marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examination will be normalized (if necessary) using the formula published by DSSSB in Notice No. 10 (271)/Sec.Cell/DSSSB/18/989 dated 11.07.2018. The final selection will be made as per the examination scheme provided in Para 4.
  2. Invalid Questions: If any questions in the exam are found to be invalid, those questions will not be evaluated. The candidate’s score will be calculated on a prorated basis, based on the maximum marks.
  3. Draft Answer Keys: The draft answer keys for the Computer Based Examination will be displayed on the DSSSB website after the exam. Candidates can review the draft answer keys and submit objections online within the specified time. Objections submitted after the deadline or through any other means (letter, email, etc.) will not be considered. The Board’s decision on objections will be final.
  4. Minimum Qualifying Marks: The DSSSB has set minimum qualifying marks, which must be met by candidates to qualify for further stages of the recruitment. The Board reserves the right to prescribe a minimum cut-off mark for any post based on the number of candidates.
  5. Tie-Breaker Criteria:
    • In case two or more candidates have the same score:
      • The candidate older in age will be given preference.
      • If the age is also the same, preference will be given to the candidate whose first name comes first in alphabetical order.
  6. Final Selection & Court Allocation: The final selection and allocation of courts will be based on merit and candidate preferences. Candidates must specify at least one preference for posts/courts; failure to do so will result in exclusion from consideration. Once a candidate is allocated a post based on merit, they will not be considered for subsequent preferences.
  7. Post Allocation: Once a candidate has been assigned a post or court, no changes will be allowed under any circumstances. The preferences exercised by candidates are final and irreversible.
  8. Vacancy Consideration: Vacancies reported by the User Department up until the shortlisting of candidates will be taken into account for recruitment.
  9. Category-wise Allocation:
    • Candidates from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, and PwBD categories, who are selected based on their merit, will be accommodated against unreserved vacancies. Reserved vacancies will be filled by eligible candidates from the respective reserved categories.
    • A person with disability selected based on merit may be appointed against an unreserved vacancy, provided the post is suitable for their category.
  10. Provisional Selection: Selection in the examination does not guarantee appointment until the Appointing Authority is satisfied that the candidate meets all eligibility criteria after necessary verification.
  11. Eligibility Verification: Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility requirements for the posts they apply for. If, at any stage before or after the examination, it is found that a candidate does not meet eligibility conditions, their candidature will be cancelled.
  12. No Waiting List: There will be no waiting list or reserved panel under this Combined Examination Scheme.
