Vacancy Details
- Total Number of Vacancies: 2900 posts
- The district-wise, category-wise, and medium-wise distribution of vacancies will be notified in due course. These will include reservations for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen, in accordance with government policies.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Qualifications:
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Assam TET or Central TET qualification for Lower Primary schools is mandatory.
- Additional Qualification (Non-Essential):
- Graduation with the required 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), Assam TET or CTET for Lower Primary is acceptable. However, no additional marks will be awarded for Graduation.
Other Eligibility Criteria
- Language Requirements: Either Language-I or Language-II from ATET/CTET should match the medium of instruction of the school where the candidate wishes to apply.
- Small Family Norms: As per government policy, candidates with more than two living children born after 01/01/2021 are not eligible.
- Document Verification: Applications will be verified through DigiLocker and other means to ensure the authenticity of the documents.

- For Unreserved category: 40 years (as of 1st January 2025)
- For Ex-Servicemen: 42 years
- For OBC/MOBC: 43 years

Pay Scale
- Pay Band: PB-2 (Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 70,000) + Grade Pay and other allowances as per The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.
Selection Process
- Merit-Based Selection: A separate merit list will be created for each district and category based on the following criteria:
- Marks in Higher Secondary (5% weightage)
- Marks in D.El.Ed or equivalent (5% weightage)
- Assam TET or CTET scores (85% weightage)
- Additional Points for Achievements:
- NCC Certificates: 5 marks for “C” certificate, 3 marks for “B” certificate.
- Participation in National-Level Sports or Fine Arts/Cultural Activities: 5 marks for state or national representation.
